Track Completes Final Warmup Before MAC Championships

ANN ARBOR, MI - In their final tune up before the MAC Indoor Championships, the University of Toledo track and field team had numerous top-10 finishers at the Silverston Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Kiah Douglas led five Rocket long jumpers who finished in the top-seven, as she placed second in 18-03.75. Junior Alexandra Afloari was right behind her in third (18-03.25) and sophomore Julie Snyder finished fourth (18-01.50). In sixth was freshman Ksenia Kraitchkova (17-05.50) while classmate Katie Bollin took seventh (17-01.50).

Freshman Yuhong Fu finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 37-11.25, while senior Michelle Sutherland finished third in the high jump with a mark of 5-05.

Junior Amanda Kaverman finished in third in the 60 meter dash (7.69) and freshman Kristal Studer finished likewise in the 800 (2:20.31), just .11 out of second. Danielle Thomas was behind Studer in fifth in the 800.

Toledo placed a pair in the top-six in the 200 meter dash, with freshman Sarah Woodrum taking third in 25.90 and Kimara Morgan placing sixth (26.46). Meanwhile, junior Danielle Jacoby placed fourth in the 400 meter dash (1:00.17) and classmate Karen Sovacool was fifth in the mile run (5:10.54).
