MAC CHAMPIONSHIP WEBSITE

The Bowling Green State University track and field team travels to Mount Pleasant, Mich. this weekend for the 2010 Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The meet will be held on Friday, February 26 and Saturday, February 27 at the Jack Skoog Indoor Track on the campus of Central Michigan University.  Ticket information is available on the Championship website.

All 12 Mid-American Conference schools will participate in the meet.  This means that Centennial Cup points will be on the line.  The Centennial Cup is an all-sports between BGSU and Kent State University in celebration of each school's 100-year anniversary.  Each meeting between the two schools is worth one point, and the Falcons hold a 4.5-3.5 lead over the Golden Flashes at this moment.  This is one of three Centennial Cup events this week; the two schools will also compete in men's basketball (Wednesday, February 24) and women's basketball (Saturday, February 27).

The Falcons are led into the Championships by senior Sabrina Forstein and freshman Jeanette Pettigrew.  Forstein has won the pole vault event in three of BGSU's four meets this year and owns one of the top 10 jumps recorded in the MAC this year.  In the 60 meter dash, Pettigrew has also won three times this season, and she owns one of the top five times of the season for all MAC runners in the event.

A full recap and complete results from the Championships will be posted shortly after the conclusion of action on both days of the meet.
