Feature Interview: We had the opportunity to speak with Track and Field icon Carl Lewis at the 2025 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Humble, Texas.
Holding an athletics resume like almost no other, quantifying Lewis' history of achievements and his overall impact on the sport are immeasurable.
Lewis, a 10-time Olympic medalist (including 9-golds), a 10-time World Championships medalist (including 8-golds) and the current head coach of the University of Houston Cougars (his alma mater), shared with FloSports his assessment of the AAU Mission and the great work performed by the venue hosts from the Humble Independent School District.
Career highlights on the competition front, the state of the sport at the youth level, the incoming class at the University of Houston and a comparison in difficulty between the sprinting and jumping events were just a sample of the many topics where Lewis imparted his vast knowledge and insights.
