Eleven Top-10 Efforts Highlight Toledo's Effort at Coastal Carolina

CONWAY, SC - The University of Toledo track and field team concluded its spring break trip with a bevy of top performances Saturday at the Coastal Carolina Invitational.

Kiah Douglas won the long jump with her final leap of the day of 19-00.50. Michelle Sutherland took second in the high jump with a mark of 5-05.

In the triple jump, Jaime Gittens finished sixth (37-05.75) and Alexandra Afloari took eighth (37-01.75).

Sarah Woodrum was the runner-up in the 400 meter run with a time of 56.84 and Amanda Kaverman took third in the 200 meter dash (24.28).

Karen Sovacool placed fifth in the 5000 meter run with her time of 18:17.44, while Kristal Studer crossed the line in ninth in the 1500 meter run (4:52.01).

Toledo had three of the top-eight finishers in the steeplechase, led by Joni Camp (11:51.22) in fifth. Hannah Brisson was a shade behind Camp in sixth (11:53.81), and Amber Cushnie took eighth (11:59.88).

The Rockets return to action on Saturday, March 27 when they host the Toledo Collegiate Quad Challenge at the UT Track.
