BEREA, Ohio — The Marietta College track and field teams traveled to Baldwin-Wallace College Saturday (April 24) to compete in the non-scoring Sparky Adams Invitational at George Finnie Stadium [Results]

Marietta's women produced both an individual and a relay champion on Saturday. Sophomore #Brittany Sims (Columbus/Eastmoor Academy)# won the 400m Hurdles with a personal record time of 1:105.14. Classmate #Corryn Muench (Cold Spring, Ky./Newport Central Catholic)# finished second in the event after also running a personal record time of 1:05.53. Sims and Muench also combined with senior #Christi Tims (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls)# and freshman #Kristeva Rowe# to win the 4x400m Relay. The women covered the mile in 4:14.59.

Other women's highlights came from sophomore #Lauren Asbury (White Sulphur Springs, W.Va./Greenbrier East)#, who took runner-up in both the 100m and 200m Dashes. Asbury crossed the line in 12.91 seconds in the 100m and in 27.23 seconds in the 200m. Sophomore #Kim Keesler (Chagrin Falls/Chagrin Falls)# also took third in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.45m (11-03.75).

Sophomore #Mike Pankowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills)# had Marietta's top finish on the men's side. He placed runner-up in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 55.26m (181-03). The Pioneers also received a second place finish in the 4x100m Relay when freshman #William McCulloch#, junior #Matt Hickman (St. Mary's, W.Va./St. Mary's)#, junior #Anthony Williams (Columbus/Bishop Hartley)# and sophomore #Ryan House (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn)holder# combined for a time of 4:21.55.

Another men's highlight came from Householder, who took third in the 200m Dash with a season's best time of 22.58 seconds. Senior #Cody Thomas (North Olmsted/North Olmsted)# took fourth in the 800m Run with a personal record time of 1:54.79. Senior #Josh Mickle (Madison/Madison)# placed fourth in the 1,500m Run with a season's best time of 4:06.90. In addition, Thomas, Hickman, Williams and Householder placed third in the 4x400m Relay with a time of 3:26.02.

Next on tap for Marietta is the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championship, which will take place April 30-May 1 on the campus of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.
