TOLEDO, OH - After winning two events on Thursday, Toledo track and field athletes tallied six more event victories to close day two of the 26th Annual Toledo Invitational on Friday at the UT Varsity Track.

This year's edition of the Invitational was the biggest in history, featuring 23 teams and over 600 athletes.

"This was a great performance for our girls across all event areas," Kevin Hadsell, head coach, said. "I'm really excited with how we're competing as we head to the finish over the next four or five weeks."

Leading the Rockets on day two was Michelle Sutherland, who won the high jump and set a meet record with her leap of 5-08. It's the second-best performance in the MAC this spring and her first victory in outdoor competition.

Toledo also had success in the long jump, taking the top three spots, highlighted by Alexandra Afloari's leap of 19-00.25. That places her ninth on the school's all-time list and 10th in the conference entering the weekend, and was her first win in the event at UT.

Kiah Douglas, meanwhile, finished second (18-11.75) and Katie Bollin (17-11.50) came in third for UT in the event as well.

The Rockets claimed the top four positions in the 400 meter dash, led by Amanda Kaverman, who crossed the line in 56.64. She has competed three times in the 400 and walked away victoriously each time. Sarah Woodrum placed second (57.63), followed by Kimara Morgan (57.76) in third and Danielle Jacoby (58.60) in fourth.

Kristal Studer earned her first collegiate victory in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:23.32, winning by over 20 seconds. Danielle Thomas finished fourth with a mark of 10:50.37.

Julie Snyder was victorious in the 100 hurdles with a time of 14.65, while Emily Nadolny, who is redshirting this spring, competed unattached in the discus and won with a personal-record toss of 146-07.

The Rockets' 4x100 meter relay team also scored a victory with their time of 47.29, placing first by a second and a half.

Toledo also had a slew of other top-five efforts. Sarah Neubacher finished second in the 5000-meter run with a time of 18:37.95, followed by Liza Cholin in fourth with a mark of 19:28.04.

After competing in the 400, Jacoby also had a solid performance in the 200, finishing with a time of 25.53. Antalesha Ballard, meanwhile, took third in the 400 meter hurdles with her time of 1:07.50, while Joni Camp came in third with a mark of 11:56.85 in the steeplechase.

UT's athletes aren't done competing this weekend, as Ari Fisher is slated to run at the prestigious Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Stanford, later this evening. Also, the Rockets will be traveling to the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus on Saturday.
