Four All-OAC Performances Key JCU Women's Effort At OAC Track & Field Championships

Ashley Aberl followed her All-OAC cross country efforts in the fall with an all-conference run in the spring
John Carroll had eleven different individuals contribute to the team's point total, including four that earned all-league honors, as the Blue Streaks finished seventh out of ten teams at the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Results

In the two-day event held at Mount Union Stadium in Alliance, the Blue Streaks scored 65 points to finish between Otterbein (76.50) and Wilmington (57.50).  Mount Union scored 130 points to edge Marietta for its second all-time OAC crown.

Ashley Aberl, Megan Lutz (Oil City, Pa, Venango Catholic), Emily Tillmaand (Xenia, OH, Xenia)and Katie Manjerovic (Pittsburgh, PA, North Hills)each had All-OAC performances (top three finishes) over the course of the weekend.

Aberl twice finished in the points (top eight) for JCU, taking third in the 1500-meter run (4:53.25) and fifth in the 5000-meter run (18:50.38).

Lutz earned all-league status with her third place effort in the 800-meter run (2:19.36).

Tillmaand had the top placing effort by a JCU individual this weekend, crossing the finish line in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 41:01.13.

Manjerovic, a senior, earned All-OAC status for the first time in her career by finishing third in the javelin (37.12 meters). 

Alicia Giannell (Perry, OH, Perry)joined Aberl as the only two Blue Streaks who placed in the top eight twice. She earned that distinction with a pair of sixth-place showings in the long jump (5.23 meters) and triple jump (10.57 meters). Also placing in the triple jump was Maura Stepanski (Tampa, FL, Tampa Catholic), who took eighth (10.42 meters).

Maureen Creighton (Kenmore, NY, Nardin)andBrittany Musa (Madison, OH, Madison)nearly earned All-OAC status, both finishing one place outside the top three. Creighton finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (26.13) and Musa placed fourth in the high jump (1.58 meters).

Also figuring into the scoring wereMaribeth Keppler (Cleveland, OH, Holy Name), who was seventh in the 400-meter run (1:01.65); Tricia Doherty (Chicago, IL, Marist), who was seventh in the 5000-meter run (19:07.02); andKelly Grieve (Toledo, OH, Sylvania Southview)who was sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:06.69).
