Katy Zang Runs 9:37.15, Breaks Mary Cain's 13-Year-Old National Record

The top Ohio performance of the weekend undoubtedly belongs to Teays Valley senior Katy Zang, who won the girls 2-mile championship at New Balance Nationals on Saturday in 9:37.15. Her mark bettered Mary Cain's national high school record of 9:38.68--which Cain ran at this same meet in February 2013--and ensured she finished a full 15 second ahead of second place, which went to Abigail Hennessy of Westford, MA, in 9:52.55.
