The Bowling Green State University men's cross country team opened the 2010 season today (Sept. 3) by falling to the archrival Toledo Rockets in the BGSU/Toledo Dual Meet.

Two Falcon runners tied for fifth, including senior Chris Moody (0:15.45), who extends his streak of being the top Falcons' finisher into its third season.

Sophomore Jason Salyer continued the success he had in his freshmen campaign by joining Moody in the tie for fifth place.  The Orange and Brown featured one other runner in the top ten -- freshman Greg Black -- who finished tenth in 0:16.26.

The University of Toledo took the top four spots in today's race to claim the team title, 17 points to 46.  Sophomore Nick Thomas won today's 5K with a time of 0:15.29.

Graduate student Rob Kelvey (0:16.32) and senior Jesse Smuda (0:16.39) rounded out BGSU's top five.

Joining Salyer and Black in a strong showing for BGSU's young runners were freshman Luke Zerkle and sophomore Josh Franek, each of whom completed the race in under 17 minutes.
