This past weekend was a big one for Ohio boys jumps. Kenyon Evans put his name on three leaderboards in one afternoon. Teague Boland already matched his 2025 outdoor PR in his season opener. Corey Davis is a foot clear of everyone in the pole vault. And Key'Shawn Garrett is running and jumping like one of the best multi-threat athletes in the state.
Teague Boland walked into the LaSalle Legends Track & Field Classic on Mar 28 and in his first outdoor meet of the season, cleared 6-8, a mark that's currently the top in the state. (Indoors, he holds a PR of 6-10.00 from the 2026 KTCCCA President's Day Weekend Invite.)
Kenyon Evans had a day at the Rice/Stacey Boyd County Classic. The Wheelersburg senior opened with 21-11.50 in the long jump, an outdoor PR. He came back in the triple jump and went 42-1, another outdoor PR. Then for good measure he cleared 6-2.00 in the high jump for a spot on a third state leaderboard. He stepped up to adidas Indoor Nationals on Mar 20 and placed fifth.
Key'Shawn Garrett does not have a narrow event profile. The Wayne senior went 43-4 in the triple jump at the Wayne Quint on Mar 27. he tops that state leaderboard now, and had his sights on his outdoor PR of 46-4.75. At the same meet he ran 10.97 and 22.38 in the 100m and 200m, both into headwinds. His PRs read like a decathlete's: 10.63 in the 100m, 20.74 in the 200m, 49.12 in the 400m, 8.82 in the 60m hurdles, 23-0 in the long jump indoors, and 6-0 in the high jump.
