Three Runners In The Top Eleven Help JCU Men Place Third At Walsh Meet

John Carroll head coach Dara Ford had to be delighted to see three of her runners in the top eleven, which helped the Blue Streaks finish third of six teams at the 2010 Ric Sayre Invitational, held Saturday in North Canton, Ohio.

Mount Union won the event with 20 points, followed by Walsh (64) and John Carroll (73). Roberts Wesleyan (121), Hiram (124) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (144).

Jake Smith was the top Blue Streak finisher, placing fifth in a time of 26:33.06. Pat Burns was next across in tenth place (26:56.90), with Chuck Mule right behind in 11th (27:09.49).

Matt Tarchick, 32nd at 28:21.69, and Nick Wojtasik, 33rd at 28:26.05, rounded at the scoring for the John Carroll contingent.
