John Carroll Holds Its Own Against Bigger Schools At Fairfield Fr. Leeber Invitational

Taylor Whisler helped John Carroll impress as the lone Division III school at the FairfieldFr. Leeber Invitational
Going head-to-head with a field comprised of Division I and II schools, John Carroll more than held its own by placing fifth out of eight schools at the 34th Annual Father Leeber S.J. Invitational held Saturday in Fairfield, Connecticut.

Results

Sacred Heart won the title with 29 points, holding of  runner-up Marist with 41 points. John Carroll scored 134 points to best three teams, including Division I Fordham 9169).

Ashley Aberl was the top finisher for JCU, clocking in at 20:18.51 to place 16th. Kelly Grieve followed close behind in 23rd at 20:32.32.

Freshmen Anna Busta and Taylor Whisler were next across. Busta took 29th in 21:12.61, while Whisler placed 30th in 21:23.61.

Megan Lutz rounded out the scoring for the Blue Streaks, finishing in 36th place (21:43.66).
