Rockets Move Up to No. 27 in USTFCCCA Pre-NCAA Championship Poll

11/16/2010 7:16:00 PM

TOLEDO, OH - Just days after the University of Toledo women's cross country team learned that they had earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Div. I Women's Cross Country Championships, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their national coaches' poll, moving the Rockets up to No. 27.

The No. 27 ranking marks the second-highest position in the national poll in program history. The only Rocket team to surpass that mark was the 2002 MAC Championship team that ranked as high as No. 26. This is the third-straight week for Toledo in the national Top-30 after receiving votes in six of the seven previous weeks.

Toledo will compete in the program's first NCAA Women's Cross Country Championship as a team on Nov. 22 in Terre Haute, Ind. The women's race will begin at approximately 12:08 p.m. Eastern time. A live webcast of the championships will be broadcast from noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, November 22, on NCAA.com.  In addition, highlights from the championships will be included as part of the CBS NCAA Fall Seasonal Show scheduled to air on Saturday, December 18 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Eastern time on CBS HD.
