Michelle Thomas of Glen Este has decided to continue her education and running career at the Ohio State University. Thomas won the OHSAA State Championship in Division 1 by finishing with in a personal record time of 17:41.50. Thomas has also placed 2nd (in 2008) and 4th (in 2009) at the OHSAA State Cross Country Championship meet. Thomas also recently qualified as an individual for the Nike Cross Nationals to be held in December in Portland, Oregon by finishing third at the Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional with a time of 17:52.
Thomas is also quite accomplished on the track. She won the 3200m run at the 2010 OHSAA State Championship meet in a personal record time of 10:46.59. During the 2010 indoor season, she won the 1600m run with a time of 5:00.38 and finished second in the 3200m run at the OATCCC Indoor State Championship. During her 2009 track campaign, Thomas finished third in both the 1600m and 3200m runs at the OHSAA State Championship.
