Falcon Track and Field Competes at Oiler Opener

In a brief prelude to the upcoming 2011 season for the Bowling Green State University track and field team, three Falcon athletes traveled to Findlay, Ohio on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 3-4) for the 2010 Oiler Opener.

Senior Paige Lane competed in the weight throw, while sophomore Jessie Rowland and junior Ashley Harris each participated in the weight throw and shot put events.

In the shot put, Harris placed fifth with a toss of 45-09.75 (13.96m).  Rowland was 18th after a throw of 38-10.25 (11.84m).

Rowland's 52-07.50 (16.04m) distance in the weight throw earned eighth place, while Harris finished 11th, posting a 50-07.50 (15.43m) mark.  Lane's toss went 33-10.00 (10.31m) for 34th place.

Bowling Green will host their annual Brown versus Orange scrimmage next Friday (Dec. 10) beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the BGSU Fieldhouse.  The regular season will begin in earnest on Saturday, Jan. 15 at 11:00 a.m. with the annual BGSU Invitational.
