Courtney Krummert - Falcon Invite 2010

Courtney Krummert Named to Academic All-MAC Team

Tue, Jan, 04 | Women's Cross Country

CLEVELAND, OH -- In 2010, Courtney Krummert achieved career bests on the course during her final year with the Bowling Green State University women's cross country team.  Thanks to her work in the classroom, she has also earned academic honors, as she has been named to the 2010 women's cross country Academic All-MAC team.

Krummert, a senior from Milford, Ohio, becomes the 20th athlete in the history of the Falcon women's cross country program to earn the honor.  She has earned a 3.840 GPA while majoring in Criminal Justice.  Her efforts have helped the team achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.55 over a total 1,414 hours through August 2010.

During the 2010 cross country season, Krummert competed in five races.  She posted personal best times in both 5K and 6K events.

At the season-opening dual meet with Toledo, Krummert shattered her previous best time in the 5K by over 20 seconds as she finished in just 19:31 to place 13th.  In her final home meet as a Falcon, she finished the 6K run with a time of 23:13.4 to place 53rd.  This broke her previous personal best by over one minute.

The Academic All-MAC honor is voted on by faculty athletic representatives at Mid-American Conference institutions and is given to student-athletes who have excelled in athletics and academics.  To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.

First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
