Jackie Leppelmeier, a senior from McComb High School, has chosen to continue her education and track and field career at Kent State University. Leppelmeier was the 2010 Outdoor Division 3 State Champion and the 2010 Indoor Division 2/3 State Champion in the shot put. Leppelmeier also finished as the runner up in the weight throw at the Indoor Division 2/3 State Championship and fifth in the Discus throw at the Outdoor Division 3 State Championship.
Leppelmeier currently leads Ohio and the nation for the 2011 Indoor season in both the Shot Put (current season best of 45-2) and the Weight throw ( personal record throw of 47-10). Leppelmeier also returns the 9th best throw in the hammer nationally (PR of 149-10), the 8th best throw nationally in the Shot Put (PR of 45-3.75). Leppelmeier also has a Discus PR of 140-6.
