Falcons To Compete At Silverston Invitational

Wed, Feb, 16 | Women's Track and Field

As their final preparation for the 2011 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, the Bowling Green State University track and field team will send several athletes to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday (Feb. 19) for the annual Silverston Invitational.

Eight BGSU athletes are currently scheduled to make the trip.  Ariel Edwards leads off the competition for Bowling Green when she participates in the high jump at noon.  Erika Schmidt will run in two events -- the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.

Allison Weimer is scheduled to compete in the 600 meter run, while Ashley Fischer will represent the Falcons in the mile run.

Four different members of the Orange and Brown -- Carly Wells, Nicole Farr, Saisha Gailliard and Courtney Krummert -- will compete in the 800 meter run.

The meet is hosted by the University of Michigan.  The UM women's track and field team is currently ranked 13th nationally in the USTFCCCA computer rankings for NCAA Division I schools.

Results will be posted following the conclusion of action on Saturday evening.
