Several Ohio high school athletes set personal records and school marks at the 2026 OHSAA Outdoor Championships on June 4.
Zoe Kuhn (Ash. Crestview) cleared 11-4 in the pole vault, improving from her previous best of 10-6. The sophomore ranks #52 in Ohio and #8 among underclassmen, finishing 29th of 84 competitors while setting a school record.
Matt Nietz (Mil. Lake) threw 57-2.5 in the shot put, bettering his previous mark of 53-1.5. The junior places 29th in the state and 11th among his class, taking 24th of 86 competitors with a school record performance. Nietz also set a personal best in the discus, improving from 163-9 to 164-2.
Brett Beury (Firelands) launched the discus 188-8, up from his previous best of 177-9. The sophomore ranks 6th in Ohio and 3rd among underclassmen, placing 4th of 87 competitors with a school record throw.
McKenzie Montgomery (Gibsonburg) vaulted 11-8, improving from 11-0 set in May. The junior ranks 26th in the state and 9th among her class, finishing 20th of 84 competitors.
Lydia Ripple (Tri-Valley) ran 24.41 in the 200 meters, dropping from her May time of 25.35. The sophomore ranks 9th in Ohio and 2nd among underclassmen, placing 5th of 87 competitors with a school record.
Brewer Tomlison (Bea. Eastern) put the shot 59-7.5, improving from 56-0.5. The senior ranks 14th in the state and 9th among his class, taking 8th of 86 competitors with a school record. Tomlison also bettered his discus mark from 154-6 to 159-8.
Charles Caines (Andrews Osbourne Academy) cleared 6-5 in the high jump, up from 6-2 set in May. The junior ranks 57th in Ohio and 16th among his class, finishing 22nd of 71 competitors with a school record.
