Ohio Girls Cross Country Performer of the Week (Aug. 31-Sep. 6)

After another week of cross country racing in Ohio, it's time to vote for the MileSplit Ohio girls cross country performer of the week.

This Week's Nominees:

Maggie Gerschutz, Wadsworth (Ohio): A 25.5-second margin separated the winner from the rest of a 226-runner field at the Ashland CC Invitational - HS Entry Only, with the 5K covered in 18:56.50. The clocking ranks No. 12 of 1,108 athletes in MileSplit's database at Freer Field since 2021.

Kaitlyn Van Zandt, Watterson (Ohio): The Westerville North Classic ended with a 36.2-second gap back to the runner-up after a winning 5K time of 18:45.25 among 143 finishers. That mark also improved on a prior clocking of 18:53.59 on the same course, coming in 8.3 seconds faster, and stands fifth of 1,773 athletes in MileSplit's database at Westerville North HS since 2019.

Ava Reiheld, West Holmes (Ohio): Covering the 5K in 18:37.00 was enough to win the Newcomerstown Invitational by 21.0 seconds over a 145-runner field. The time is the fastest recorded in MileSplit's database at Newcomerstown High School (Ohio) since 2023, a span covering 258 athletes.

Audrey Miller, Aurora (Ohio): A 53.7-second winning margin at the Avon Lake Earlybird XC Invitational followed a 5K time of 18:24.30, the top finish among 128 runners. The performance ranks sixth of 2,296 athletes in MileSplit's database at Lorain County Community College since 2019.

Katrina Neal, Clear Fork (Ohio): Crossing first among 121 finishers at the Highland Flying Scots Cross Country Invitational - HS, the 5K time of 18:20.90 put 95.6 seconds between first and second place. It also stands as the fastest mark in MileSplit's database at Highland HS Stadium since 2024, covering 253 athletes, and improved on a previous 19:11.53 by 50.6 seconds on the same course.
