Alyssa Gary, a senior at Liberty-Benton High School, has chosen to continue her education and throwing career at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Alyssa finished as the runner up last year in three different championship events, the Division 2/3 Indoor Shot Put (43-9.75), the Division 3 Outdoor Shot Put (45.11.25) and the Division 3 Discus Throw (148-9).
Alyssa has a multitude of Top Ten returning performances. Indoors wise, Alyssa returns the top Shot Put throw in the state, and 8th best nationally with a heave of 43-9.75. In the Weight Throw, Alyssa returns the third best mark in Ohio with her best throw from last year being 40-2.5. She set a personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 42-4 during her sophomore year at the OATCCC State Indoor Championship. For the outdoor season, Alyssa returns the second best throw in the state in the Shot Put at 45-11.25, the best throw in the Discus at 148-9, and the third best throw in the Hammer with a personal record of 120-4.
