The Amherst High School track and field team would like to invite all track and field athletes, coaches, and parents to our 3rd Annual Amherst Track and Field Comet Clinic on PRESIDENTS DAY, Monday February 20th from 10:00am-2:00pm. The goal of this FREE clinic is to provide local track and field enthusiasts with knowledge and excitement for the upcoming track season. With some help from ASICS, we are able to bring world-class speakers to our campus to speak on a variety of topics. Many of the sessions will be "learn by doing" format including sprints, distance, field events, strength/flexibility, plyometrics, hurdles and nutrition. There will also be a parent-sessions about college track and field recruiting and scholarship negotiation, and an athlete symposium that will allow high school athletes to discuss college track and field with current college student - athletes.
This clinic is FREE to all attendees, including junior high and high school athletes, coaches, parents and fans of track and field. In addition to world-class speakers, FREE lunch and giveaways will be available. There will also be discounted ASICS items (up to 40%) provided by Kohlmyer Sporting Goods. ASICS representatives will be there to ensure you get the correct fit. Items will be stocked at the clinic and cash or credit cards will be accepted.
In addition to the free food and speakers, coaches that attend and bring at least fifteen athletes will also receive a FREE ASICS backpack filled with ASICS merchandise and information. These coaches will also receive $500 in ASICS apparel. Please RSVP by Monday, February 13th. This promotion is also available to teams the day of the clinic.
Several athletes have been invited from local high schools and junior high schools. We anticipate large numbers at this event and encourage you to bring busses for your athletes. Parents volunteers will be directing busses in the South lot near the stadium. Also, please forward this message to your junior high coaches. The attached fliers can be copied and distributed to your athletes.
