(Taylor Ewert spoke with MileSplit Illinois Editor, Tony Jones following her Regional race)

Taylor Ewert will wrap up her long and successful cross country season on Saturday when she toes the line against the country's best at the Foot Locker National Championship in San Diego.  Among Ewert's 2018 campaign highlights are a win at DI State's, a runner-up effort at the Foot Locker Midwest Regional and a third place showing at last weekend's Nike Cross Nationals.

The junior class athlete set her pr of 16:57.90 at the GWOC Championship back in October and overall she's taken eight victories in her eleven race starts.  Ewert currently resides at number nine in the MileSplit 50 subjective rankings.  She figures to encounter stiff competition on Saturday from the likes of Emily Covert, Katelynne Hart, Marlee Starliper and London Culbreath, among many others.
