COVID Protocols

General Considerations:

  • Coaches and meet staff must wear a facial covering at all times.

  • Athletes must wear a facial covering when not actively competing. Each athlete should have a plan to store their face covering before their race. Immediately following a race, having been released by the head timer, athletes should return to their start line while maintaining social distance from all other individuals to retrieve their masks.

All event check in and finish areas will enforce social distancing for all athletes and officials.

Shot put and discus: athletes must provide their own implements (that pass inspection) and retrieve their own implements after all throws.

High Jump: removable tarps that can be sprayed with disinfectant between jumpers will be available upon request for athletes.

Sprint, hurdle, relay events run entirely in lanes: Disinfectant spray will be available at the start of each race should an athlete prefer to disinfect the blocks before using them.

Races not run entirely in lanes:  considered moderate risk activities when conducted under normal circumstances. Heats will be limited to 12.

Relay events: teams must bring their own batons and they should be disinfected after each heat/race.
