Meet Information
Hello all!
Thanks for allowing us to host your teams again this spring. We'll do our best to manage all things so you can coach. We will reach out to a handful of you to help us on the games committee and we could probably use help on meet day with exchange zones...but hopefully our officials can swing it!\
The initial meet program is posted here. We don't have plans to re-assign lanes/flights, but all are welcome to substitute athletes as soon as you can (see information).
A couple questions...
- At the state clinic, I recall talk about preferred lanes in the distance races? Scott did them randomly as in the past...I don't think there was a rule change (and couldn't find one if there was).
- Boys will vault first on Thursday, followed by the girls. We have four schools with vaulters entered. We'll discuss height progressions in the vault (and high jump) after we see weather conditions on event days.
- We set flights in the throws and long jump with the better entries in the second flight. This should require less warm up time before the finals. That said, should we combine the girls long jump into ONE FLIGHT. There are 13 jumpers entered. This means that, as set up currently, at least two girls will be coming from the first flight to finals. I think one flight would be best?
In closing, my youngest is graduating on Saturday from college, so I'll be gone. Please help out our volunteers as you can. We have the field events covered and the finish line. We could really use help with experienced exchange zone people on Saturday. Our throws coach, Aaron Mayer, will help with awards and the podium stuff. Please consider being available to give awards to your medal winners!!
