Thank you for participating in the 2025 Smithe Invite on September 2nd at the University of Akron Wayne College 1901 Smucker Rd, Orrville, Ohio 44667. Attached you will find the 2025 meet information. Please read all information carefully!
Entry Deadline
We will be using Milesplit this year for registration. The Milesplit entry opens August 6th at noon and the deadline will be Friday, August 29at 5:00 pm. Please see the scorers when you arrive if you need to add/remove any of your runners.
Races
High school will run a 5k, middle school 2 miles. Starting box numbers will be listed on your packet. Please make sure your team arrives at their starting box 10-15 minutes early for check in with the official. Numbered bibs are being used; there will be a bib for each runner in your packet. Please make sure that your runners number on the sheet matches their bib. Any errors could result in that athletes disqualification from the race. There is no need to collect runner bibs at the end of the race.

Parking
After dropping your runners off, please have your bus driver park in the far northwest lot.
Concessions & T-Shirts
Please let your teams and parents know that this year we will be offering Smithie Invite t-shirts at a cost of $15.RestroomsWe will have Port-a-Pots located near the main viewing area. Please direct your runners to use these and to avoid going into the school. Runners should not need to enter Wayne College for any reason. Thanks for your help in this matter!
Hydration
Please make sure your athletes drink plenty of fluids leading up to race day. Every year this meet seems to be on an extremely hot and humid day, and we want all runners to have a safe and enjoyable experience. Water will be available at the finish line and sports drinks will be for sale at the t-shirt tent.
Awards
High School: The first 10 runners in each race will receive a medal. 11-20 receive ribbons. These awards will be handed out as the runner leaves the chute. The top 2 boys and girls teams will receive a team trophy.
Middle School: The top 20 finishers will receive a ribbon as they leave the chute. Trophies for the top 2 boys and girls teams will be awarded.
