Kaitlyn Gillespie   Kelly Tuckwiller for MSNsportsNET.com January 16, 2011 11:51 AM MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Redshirt freshman Kaitlyn Gillespie captured first-place in the 1,000-meter race on Saturday as the West Virginia University track and field team posted an excellent finish at the Doug Raymond Invitational, hosted by Kent State. Gillespie took the top spot with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 2:54.16. The Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, native also race well in the 800-meter event, finishing in fourth with a time of 2:16.43.

The Xavier track and field squad starts its season back up this weekend after a lapse in action due to winter break. The Musketeers will be competing in the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State, Xavier's second trip up to Kent this season.

Ohio runners achieved two top-10 individual finishes and the distance medley relay team finished with a fourth-place finish at the 2011 Doug Raymond Invitational from the Kent State Field House.

Pitt women's track and field team won four events while setting four career best marks at the Doug Raymond Invitational on Saturday.The Panthers recorded 14 top-5 finishes while adding two new Big East qualifying marks.

The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the 2011 Doug Raymond Invitational on the campus of Kent State University this past weekend.
