Oak Park, Mi. senior Cameron Cooper soloed an impressive US #1 1:50.07 for 800m -- the third-fastest time in prep history! He clocked splits of 54/56, though he said after the race that his coach wanted him to hit 54 for the first 400m and 1:47 for the full distance, which would have broken the national record by two seconds!
Only Robby Andrews (1:49.21) and Ben Malone (1:49.94) have ever run faster while in high school.
