Day 1 State - The Wow!

The first day of the 2015 OHSAA State Track & Field Championships proved to have the Wow factor. Several new Divisional records were set. JFK Warren Sr. Chad Zallow broke a record set in 1993 in the 110mH. Zalllow ran a 13.62 to best the 1993 State Meet Record of 13.79 set by Kevin Huntley of Freemont St. Joesph C.C.


In the boys D2 100m Streetsboro Sophomore Dakari Carter ran a 10.55. It tied the D2 record of Eric Barrison of Willard set i 2002 and broke the 10.63 State Meet record of 10.63 that Bobby Cruse of Lovittsburg La Brae set in 1996.

Michaela Butler of Liberty Benton ran an 11.67 in the 100m prelims breaking her own D2 record of 11.80 and the 11.82 State Meet record of Cachet Murray of Girard that was set in 2004.

The Centerville girls broke the D1, State meet and Owens Stadium record inthe 4x800 runing a 9:00.82. The D1 and State meet record was 9:03.86 and was set by Beaumont in 1993. The Stadium record was 9:04.63 set by Perrysburg in 2014.

Coty Cobb of Madison set a new DII State record in the Pole vault with a vault of 16-6.25, breaking the 2013 D2 record of Matt Rowland of Bellview (16.06.) and the State Meet record of 16.04 set in 1986 by John Coyne of Medina Buckeye.
