Day 2 State- Wow Plus

Day two of the 2015 OSHAA State Track & Field Championships had all of the wow of day 1 and more. Here s'just one of the Mores. In the Boys D2 4x400 the finish was amazing. The pictures say it all!

Records! Sr. Chad Zallow of JFK Warren continued to demonstrate that he is not only one of the best hurdlers in the nation, but he is just fast. After winning the 110mH, he walked down the track, watched the girls 100m finals and then ran a new 100m D3 State Meet record of 10.50 breaking the 1988 State Meet record of 10.67 set by Tony Lee of Dayton Jefferson Twp, breaking the 2009 Owens Stadium record of Blake Heriot of Gahanna (10.47) and Tying the Div. 3 record set in 1995 by Denver Williams of Cadiz.

Sr. Jenna Fesemeyer of Southeast set a new All time record in the Wheel Chair 800m of 2:38.97. She closes out her HS career with 12 individual State wins, Tying Reynoldsburg's Destinee Gause for the most individual State Championships.

The D3 Minster girls set a new D3 State Record in the 4x400 running a 3:55.6.

Sr. Ryan Adams of CVCA ran one of the fastest 1600 in State history as he crossed the line in a 4:07.12 breaking the 1985 D2 Record set by Scott Fry of Sandusky Perkins and besting the Owens Stadium record of 4:07.96 set last year by Michael Vitucci of St. Xavier.

In the D2 Girls 300mH, Orange Jr. Jasmine Harris set a new D2 standard of 42.55. The old record was set in 2010 by Amber Smith of Collinwood.

In the D1 Girls 800m, Jr. Rachel Banks of Chardon ran 2:07.27 in setting a new State Meet record and a new Owens Stadium record. The old record was held by Taneisha Cordell of New Albany who ran 2:07.35 in 2011.

North Royalton Sr. Kristen Denk bested her own D1 and All Time Ohio Girls Pole Vault record, set a new Owens Stadium record and a new meet record with a vault of 13-06.
