-Tell us how your summer training is going?:

My summer training has been going great. I took one week off after my track season ended and I have been continuing to build my miles up. I run around 50 miles a week. In addition to running I enjoy biking as a way to cross train and stay in shape.

-What are your goals for the upcoming season?:

My main goal for my senior season is to break my PR. I came very close to breaking it my sophomore and junior seasons, and I am confident that with the extra miles I am putting in this summer that I will be able to accomplish this goal.

-How long have you been running and how did you get started?:

I have been running ever since I joined the cross country team in 7th grade. My interest in running got started when I was about 5 years old. My mom used to time my siblings and me as we ran around our yard, (it is about 400m around) and we would all see if we could beat our previous times.

-Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?:

Depending on how my season pans out, I would like to do either Nike or Footlocker, but I'm still undecided.

-What is your favorite course to run in Ohio?:

That state course at National Trail Raceway is my favorite course. The atmosphere is electric. I love running past all of the screaming fans. It definitely pushes me to go faster.

-What is the toughest course to run in Ohio?:

The Tiffin cross country course is the toughest. The hills are killer, and it seems like every time my team runs there the entire course is coated in mud.

-What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?:

My team always puts extra emphasis to compete well at our MAC conference meet. This meet is our last regular season meet and it helps gear us up for the post season.

-What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career?:

The 2011 State Cross Country Meet is my favorite race so far in my high school career. I wasn't having that great of a season, and on that day I showed up and ended up becoming the state runner-up.

-Favorite cross country memory?:

My favorite cross country memory is placing 2nd as a team at the 2011 State Meet. It was the highest place our school had ever achieved.

-When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?:

Besides running I enjoy biking, hiking, and reading.

-Favorite quote?:

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."-Mark Twain

-What shoes do you train in?:

I train in two different pairs of shoes, and alternate them so that they last longer. I run in Nike Vomero and Brooks Glycerin.

-What shoes do you race in?:

Most of the time I race in running flats (Nike Lunarlites), but if the cross country course is muddy I do run in spikes.

-What's on your iPod when you go out for runs?:

I don't typically run with my iPod.

-What professional athlete would you most like to meet?:

I would love to meet Usain Bolt. Although he is a sprinter, he is also an amazing showman, and is always fun to watch.

-What is something that most people don't know about you?:

I guess most people don't know that I enjoy taking pictures. I mostly take pictures of flowers and nature.
