Seniors- Don't Forget to sign up for Midwest Meet of Champions!

Attention all seniors! The Midwest Meet of Champions is back for the 2014 edition and this year the race returns to Ohio! Don't forget to sign up now so that we can defend our home turf.

The Midwest Meet of Champions has been in existence since 1974 and pits the best senior track and field athletes from Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan against each other in the only scored, inter-state all-star meet of its kind in the United States. Final roster selections are made the Sunday and Monday immediately following the Outdoor State Championships. There is no cost to athletes who are selected. Travel costs, souvenir uniforms that the athletes keep, t-shirts, meals, and lodging are all underwritten by the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches.

This year the Midwest Meet of Champions returns to Ohio. It will be held at Granville High School in Granville, Ohio on June 14th. The event kicks off at noon with the Parade of Athletes.

Last year Ohio swept both the Girls and Boys team titles in the event and we want to keep the momentum rolling. Mike Fernandez of Wayne will be the boys head coach and Rick Mack of Berea Midpark will coach the girls. Both teams have assembled a deep and experienced coaching staff with years of experience. Make sure you sign up now to be considered. Coaches will contact athletes this Sunday and Monday to finalize the roster. Good luck this weekend in Columbus and let's show those hoosiers and folks up north that we intend to keep that trophy right here in Ohio!
