The Legends Cross Country Invitational earlier today did not disappoint. All of the varisty divisions showed the competitiveness of both the girls and the boys within the State, not only in their own division but Statewide, regardless of the division.
Large School Boys

Maplewood Sr. Tristan Dahmen, the defending D3 State Champion proved he can run in any division. He won the race with a 15:24.80. D3 #1 and Oh #8. The D3 Maplewood boys team won the team race scoring 61 points to a strong Mt. Lebanon, PA team who was 2nd with 82 points.

Freshman Olivia Howell of Solon ran a Freshman #2 and a State #9 time of 18:02 in winnng over a very strong field. As predicted, the team race was very close with the girls from Mt Lebanon, PA pulling out the team win, scoring 58 points to put away #2 Brunswick with 65, #3 Shaker Heights with 70 and Solon with 74.

Sr. Clark Bookman of Field ran a strong race in winning with a 15:55.50 and defeating defending champion Owen Reeher of Badger. The McDonald boys were just too strong as they won the team title with 66 points over runner-up SVSM with 74 and Gilmour with 87.

In one of the best individual and team races of the day, Aquinas Jr. Kalee Soehnlen won in a new State leading D3 time of 18:01.00 (Oh #8) outlasting Gilmour Sr. Hanna Markel who ran 18:04.70 (OH #12) and teammate Athena Welsh, the defending D3 State champion who ran 18:05.00 (OH #13). Gilmour won the girls team title with a low score of 53 to runner-up SVSM's 75 and McDonald's 76.
