2015 Ohio Milesplit Year in Review


2015 INDOOR

Freshman Abby Steiner of Dublin Coffman burst onto the Ohio HS track scene when she won the OATCCC Indoor State D1 60 and 200m State Championships.  Outdoors she woud run 2nd in the 100 and win the 200.  (Photo Shawn Conlon)

Mayfield Sr. Andy Isabella won the 60m Indoors and won the 100m Outdoors.  He had an explosive start!  (Photos Shawn Conlon)

St. Usula Academy's Annie Hefferan.  Shown above in her win at the OATCCC Indoor D1 3,200.  

Sr. Dominique Clairmonte was voted the 2015 Ohio MileSplit Female Athlete of the Year.  She is one of few, who have done a "Double Double.  She won both the OATCCC and OHSAA 1600 and 3,200.  Can she repeat it again this year?  Watch for her at North Carolina State.

Stiver's Jr. Tyler Johnson proved he was won of the best in the Sprints in 2015.  Indoor and outdoor D2 400m State Champion.  He's back in 2016.

Hudson Sr. Gavin Gaynor won the OATCCC Indoor 1,600.  He returns after a strong XC season with a US #1 leading Indoor time.  

North Roylaton's Kristen Denk graduated.  She is at Tennesse.  She set an All Time Ohio Girls Record in the Pole Valt and won the NBNI Championship.  Shown above at Spire last winter.

Dunbar's Brian Bell exploded onto the National scene with his anchor win in the NBNI SMR 800m Relay.  He came back and won an 800m National Championship.

Chad Zallow of JFK Warren will go down in Ohio T&F History as one of the best ever Hurdlers.  2nd above at NBNI's in the 60mH in a virtual tie.  He comes back in the Spring and wins the NBNO 110mH.

Bowling Green Sophomore Nick Lane led the Weight Throw last year placing 4th at NBNI's.  He is currently ranked US #2. 

Jr. Jake Wickey of Medina, was 6th at NBNOs.  He is currently ranked US#1.

Kalee Antill of Tri-Valley is at Arizona.  She was 4th at NBNI in the Weight Throw and ranked US #2.  Throwing the Discus , she was the OHSAA D1 State champion, 1st in the Midwest Meet of Champions and finshed off her year winning at NBNO.  

Garfield's Edith Svonovec was a D2 State Champion, a Top 10 NBNO placer and 5th at NBNI in the Shot Put.
