Wills has maintained a 3.48 GPA in the classroom.  An active member of his church community, he has volunteered as a congregational youth leader.

"He's extremely gifted physically and he has a humble confidence that really sets him apart," said Mason Head Coach Tom Rapp.  "He knows he has to work hard and approach the sport seriously but he also has amazing God-given talent."

Wills will begin his junior year of high school this fall.

The Gatorade Player of the Year program annually recognizes one winner in the District of Columbia and each of the 50 states that sanction high school football, girls volleyball, boys and girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, baseball, softball, and boys and girls track & field.  The selection process is administered by ESPN RISE magazine, which works with top sport-specific experts and a media advisory board of accomplished, veteran prep sports journalists to determine the state winners in each sport.

Wills joins recent Gatorade Ohio Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year Donny Roys (2007-08, Medina HS) among the state's list of former award winners.
