Cameron Haught and Taylor Ewert posted impressive 10K Race Walk results.
Two athletes from the Buckeye State traveled to Peru to compete in the prestigious Pan-American Junior Athletics Championships, which took place this past weekend in the city of Trujillo.
Taylor Ewert of Beavercreek High School and Cameron Haught, a recent graduate of Yellow Springs High School, represented themselves admirably in their respective 10K Race Walk events.
Taylor Ewert claimed 6th place with her 50:01.00 effort. Ewert recorded a sub 50 minute performance at the Pan American Race Walk Cup Trials in Philadelphia in April, where she posted a time of 49:54.00. Ewert, a sophomore, is also a highly ranked XC and distance runner for Beavercreek High School.
Bevercreek's Taylor Ewert also competes in the 1600m, 3200m and Steeplechase events.
Cameron Haught finished 7th in 47:44.72; a time which is not far off his p.r. of 47:32.90 that he set at last month's USATF Junior National Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hornets Stadium in Sacramento, California.
Cameron Haught also competes in 1 Mile Walk and 3K Walk events.
Congratulations to Taylor Ewert and Cameron Haught on their excellent performances at the Pan-American Junior Athletics Championships!
