Wayne athletes, Zarik Brown and Taylor Robertson got their 2018 outdoor season off to an excellent start at this past weekend's Tri-Cities Track Classic, which took place in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Brown recorded a pair of Ohio No. 1 times. The junior finished first in the 200m in 22.07 and second in the 100m due to his 10.82 effort. Brown posted his state leading time of 21.87 in the 200m prelims and this result also represents a new meet record.

Robertson kept a busy schedule during her first meet of the outdoor season, as the senior competed in four events. She took wins in the 100m hurdles race with her Ohio No. 4 time of 15.06 and in the triple jump competition due to her jump of 35-0.75. Robertson complemented her victories with a pair of runner-up finishes in the pole vault and long jump events. Her pole vault result (11-0) is an Ohio tie for No. 5 and her long jump performance (17-1) represents an Ohio No. 7 for the 2018 outdoor season.
