Denali Selent captured the 2017 WRC Championship win with her time of 19:24.50. Then a junior, Selent put a twenty-one second gap on the race's runner-up and she led her Chardon squad to the team title - they collected 28 points.
Selent went on to win her district meet at Madison the next weekend and eventually competed at both the Division I State Championship and the Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional.
This season, the senior has secured a pair of victories and has taken top 10 finishes in five of her seven starts. She produced her season's best time of 18:54.10 at last month's Saturday Night Lights meet in Centerville.
MileSplit spoke with Denali following her first place showing at last year's WRC meet.
