13 Sprinters To Watch At The SPIRE Showcase

Zarik Brown / Wayne (University of Akron)

Brown has an unblemished record in 2019 - he's contested several 60m, 200m and 400m races and he's won them all. Including both prelims and finals competitions, he's gone sub 7 seconds in the 60 in four of his five starts. The Akron bound athlete owns personal best clockings of 6.91 and 21.94.

Lorenzo Styles Jr. / Pickerington Central

Styles Jr. has served notice to the state's sprinters that there's a new force on the scene. Just a sophomore, he's first in Ohio's 60 rankings and second in the 200 due to his 6.89 and 22.25 results. In terms of 2021 grads, he leads the country in the 60 and sits at fourth in the 200. He'll be a threat to capture both wins on February 10th.

LaCarr Trent / Gahanna Lincoln (University of Cincinnati)

The 2018 Indoor State runner-up in the 60 is undefeated in that event thus far this season. The Bearcats commit trails only Lorenzo Styles Jr. in the rankings by virtue of his 6.92 personal best showing during the Ohio State University high school series.
