Girls: Bold Predictions, Events to Watch at SPIRE Showcase

Bold Prediction 1

Aasia Laurencin Runs US No. 1 sub-8.30 in 60m Hurdles

Motor City Track Club (MI)'s Aasia Laurencin enters the SPIRE Showcase 0.25 seconds ahead of the next closest entrant in the 60 meter hurdles. She also enters as the US No. 2 in the event, 0.02 seconds behind Shadajah Ballard (VA). The hurdle phenom has won 15 of the 16 races she has ran this season, prelims and finals, having lost only in the finals of the Bullis Speed Invitational two weeks ago. On the outdoor circuit, she is US No. 7 among returners with her 13.54 100 meter hurdles best.

On Sunday, she may be the heavy favorite to bring home the win, but we are predicting that she will also be the first girl under 8.30 this season and secure the US No. 1 time.
