(Taylor Ewert discussed her performance in the 1 Mile Race Walk)
Taylor Ewert got her 2019 New Balance Nationals experience off to a winning start on Saturday morning with an emphatic first place showing in the 1 Mile Race Walk event. The junior from Beavercreek, who was heavily favored entering the contest, went 6:34.53 to finish 40 seconds ahead of runner-up, Ciara Durcan of Orangeburg, NY. Duncan posted an official finishing time of 7:14.85.
This was Ewert's second consecutive NBNI RW victory and it sets her up well leading into Sunday's Championship 2 Miler, where she'll take on national talents, Katelyn Tuohy and Katelynne Hart, among others.
