Flashback Friday: Eli Baker Nets 800 Win At D2/3 State Meet

Meet Coverage -

Flashback Friday: We're kicking it back to last weekend's Division 2/3 State Championship meet, where Eli Baker put up a time of 1:54.27 on his way to a victory in the 800m contest.

Baker, a senior from Rock Hill, established a new pr on his state title winning run and the clocking represents Ohio's second fastest over the 800 distance (all divisions combined) during the 2020 campaign.

Prior to its cancellation, Baker was slated to compete at New Balance Nationals Indoor against the country's best half-milers. While he ultimately won't have an opportunity to line-up at The Armory this weekend, that doesn't make his Redmen community any less proud of his efforts this season.

Remarks regarding Baker from Rock Hill head coach, Trey Wilds -

"I am so proud of Eli for all he's done this indoor season! He was the 800m Indoor State Champ and had the 23rd best time in the country. It was one of the best performances in any athletic event in school history and we all should be proud for how he competed and represented the school."
