On This Day: Kyle Johnston Wins 800 And 1600 At Lexington

"On This Day" ...

It was 1 year ago today that the coverage team from MileSplit Ohio made the trek to Lexington for their highly competitive early season invitational.

Among the marquee athletes in action was Minutemen senior classman, Kyle Johnston, who was coming off a Division 2 XC state championship victory in the fall of 2018. Now a representative of the Kansas State University Wildcats, Johnston took full advantage of the friendly confines of his home track on this particular day.

His work consisted of a pair of race triumphs, both of which were among the top marks produced in the state at that juncture of the 2019 campaign. Johnson went 4:24.75 for a OH tie for No. 4 in the 1600 and followed that up later in the afternoon with the second best performance state-wide in the 800, a 1:55.67 showing.
