(Faith Duncan was all smiles following her best race of the season Saturday in Nashville)
Lebanon rising senior, Faith Duncan officially wrapped up her outdoor season on a high note at Saturday's Music City Distance Carnival in Nashville, Tennessee.
Duncan, who got some competitive reps in earlier this summer at a pair of Indiana-based meets, shattered her season's best 3200m mark at Lipscomb Academy with a 10:42.59 effort. Her previous performance over the 8-lap distance came at the Midsummer Nights Open, where she clocked 11:12.04.
Despite the lack of racing opportunities and the largely solo training that has been forced upon Duncan due to the Covid-era, she was only two seconds off of her career best at the distance. She owns a 10:40.11 pr, achieved at the 2018 Eastern Relays.
A contender in any distance track or cross country contest she enters, with the outdoor season now in her rear view mirror, Duncan is primed for a big XC campaign. She is the state's third ranked returning senior and the No. 4 overall runner, as noted in our pre-season rankings.
