Lakota West rising senior, Cole Cronk made his way to Nashville last weekend to test himself against a deep field of 3200m specialists at the Music City Distance Carnival.
Following the news of his originally scheduled OHSAA Early Opener being canceled, Cronk capitalized on the chance to get a single track race in prior to officially closing the book on the 2020 outdoor season.
Despite coming off a heavy week of mileage and not having put in specific preparations for the 8-lap distance, Cronk put forth a highly commendable effort. He clocked 9:27.56, officially, for thirteenth place. His mark was just six seconds from the seventh place finisher in what amounted to be a truly elite contest.
Review below Cronk's comprehensive breakdown of his experiences leading up to and at Music City.
