Dublin Jerome hosted the Celtic Clash meet and despite Covid-related restrictions, it did not disappoint.
The major highlight of the day was Hilliard Davidson sophomore Conner Ackley breaking the 15 minute barrier and running a 14:59.67 to win the Section B Varsity Division race. Leading the Wildcats to the team title as well with 51 points. Hilliard Davidson topped second place Upper Arlington (97) and third place Dublin Jerome (109). Also, of note, in this race, Dublin Jerome freshman Sam Ricchiuti showed up in a big way, placing 4th in a time of 15:36.36. This time currently ranks as No. 1 in the nation for 2024 grads.
In girls Section B action, Ohio State commit and Thomas Worthington senior Carina Napoleon took the individual win in a time of 18:28.9, beating out second place finisher Dillion Sweetman from Hilliard Davidson by 5 seconds. Sweetman's effort led the way for the victorious Wildcats group, who netted yet another team victory. They currently reside as the state's number one ranked team, per the OATCCC's latest poll.

In Section A action, the boys race was won by Thomas Caputo out of Fredericktown in a time of 15:34.1. He created a gap of 13 seconds over second place finisher from Grandview-Heights Derek Amicon. Caputo's first place effort propelled his Fredericktown team to the meet title over second place Jonathan Alder. Fredericktown recorded 42 points, while the Pioneers posted 93 points.
Morgan Hicks won the Section A girls contest with a mark of 18:36.5. This effort helped carry her Jonathan Alder squad to the team win. They put up 54 points to narrowly edge Buckeye Valley, who scored 55 points.
