The start of Ohio's 2021 cross country season is now less than two weeks away. Following the OHSAA Early Season Invitational, scheduled for Saturday, August 21st, the official competition schedule gets underway a few days later on Monday, August 23rd. That next Saturday, August 28th, the action is sure to heat up with many promising meets slated to take place throughout the state.
Among those on the docket will be the Kickoff Classic Night Invite, hosted by Painesville-Riverside High School. Registration, for approved teams only, is well underway with some of the top Northeast Region programs at both the Division I and Division II/III levels set to line-up. For Division I teams, in particular, there are still a few openings remaining. If interested, contact meet management (e-mail address noted below) to discuss further.

Riverside will mark one of several stops for the MileSplit Ohio coverage team on opening weekend. We'll be live-streaming the finish line area plus we'll have comprehensive archived race video from throughout the 5 kilometer course along with photos, interviews and social media-based results updates.
Additionally, through a cooperative effort with the Riverside coaching staff and our friends at Second Sole Mentor, we'll be collecting used running shoes and spikes to donate to athletes in need of good footwear. If you're intending to attend the meet, either as a participant, coach or fan, please consider donating to our shoe drive.
