Our reporting team had an outstanding opportunity to cover Katie Moon on Friday at Ashland during the Elite Division Pole Vault event at the Jud Logan Light Giver Collegiate Open.
The Olympic Gold Medalist and multiple time World Championships Gold Medalist put on a show for the enthusiastic crowd claiming the competition win with a 4.70 (15'5") clearance.

Major achievements were recorded in the 1 Mile event over the weekend by a pair of Ohio high school alumni distance aces.
Congratulations to Vincent Mauri and Nick Plant on breaking 4-minutes!
Mauri, a Howland grad repping Notre Dame, performed his work at the Meyo Invitational, where he clocked 3:59.05.
Virginia Tech's Plant, a 2022 Canfield graduate, dropped a 3:59.50 mark at the Doc Hale VT Meet.
