State Scoop: Ohio Leaderboards Get Re-Written Over Past Week

Cold temperatures throughout the entire Midwest Region didn't prevent the track and field performances from heating up over the past week, both in-state and abroad, as it was the busiest 7-day stretch thus far in the 2024 indoor campaign with many meets filling the schedule.

Now that most athletes have had a few reps under their belts, Ohioans are starting to hit peak form as the march toward the OATCCC State Championships draws closer. A point evidenced by several (previous) state No. 1 marks not surviving the weekend.

The biggest shake-up to our leaderboards stemmed from the University of Michigan High School Invitational, which drew elite talent from Ohio, the host Wolverine state, plus a variety of other neighboring locations. The gorgeous Ann Arbor based facility, which opened its doors in 2018, offers athletes a fast hydraulic banked 200-meter track.

Review the following pages, where we showcase events in which new Ohio number one marks were established.
