Shellhass Nearly Breaks Shellhaas Record
---
Ansonia freshman Cade Shellhaas may not have a top ten best vault in Ohio this year, but considering that he is only a freshman, I think you could give him a pass granting that he is hitting heights few freshmen have. Shellhaas finished 4th in the pole vault today with a new PR of 14' 6". This left him well behind 1st place finisher Brayden Richards who vaulted 16' 3".
Coming into the meet, Shellhaas had the third-best indoor pole vault mark of all-time for Ohio freshmen boys, and now he sits in second...only behind Brock Shellhaas.
All-Time Ohio Freshman Boys Indoor PV Marks
Rank | Athlete | Mark |
1 | Brock Shellhaas | 15' 0" |
2 | Cade Shellhaas | 14' 6" |
3 | Isaiah Marstiller | 14' 1" |
T-4 | Robert Robinson | 14' 0" |
T-4 | Chris Uhle | 14' 0" |
T-4 | Dalton Shepler | 14' 0" |
T-4 | Logan Konst | 14' 0" |
This was a huge six-inch PR for Cade, beating out his previous best of 14' 0" from the Capital University High School Meet #1 in January.
His mark of 14' 6" ranks him second in his class of 2027 this season nationally for the pole vault.
